Another Mouseka-View: Cable Car Chaos/Fire Escape

Hello & welcome back to A Look at Disney as we officially kick off Another Mouseka-View as we look at the first two episodes of season two.  With that outta the way, let's begin.

The Plot

There's not a whole lot to this short.  Just Mickey and Minnie visiting San Francisco riding a cable car and as they pass by Chinatown, a firework causes the cable to go  a chase through the hilly town and Mickey tries to save Minnie as she is stuck on the cable car.  Which starts out with a funny joke about hilly the roads in San Francisco is but it goes on for too long and all seems lost but Minnie ends up saving the day and the cars lands on one of the beams of the Golden Gate Bridge.

A buff Minnie was a bit off putting at first but they really played into it and made it work.  This short isn't bad but it just felt there.

Characters

There's not a whole lot to say about the character in this short. They were more there to serve the gags.  And that was fine.

My Final Thoughts

This short isn't bad.  It just isn't all that memorable either. Ah well, let's move onto the next short.

Once again, we have another short that just felt there.

The Plot

Mickey is on his way to see Minnie as he stops by Goofy and mistakes what Goofy is saying about a fire about Goofy hitting on Minnie.  That joke was okay,  and then that is when the short turns into Mickey climbing the fire escape of Minnie's apartment trying to save Minnie but gets stopped by everyone wanting them to save them or their children.  Which Mickey does as but once he does, Mickey sees that it just a burnt turkey.   And the short ends with Goofy coming with some firefighters to help.

Character

Mickey voiced by Chris Diamantopoulos

I will say this much for this short, I do like that the short shows Mickey's good-natured personality and determination and willingness to help everyone.   He'll do whatever it takes to assure that everyone is safe and this short did a good job of showing that.

My Final Thoughts

The portrayal of Mickey is pretty good and that does elevate the short quite a bit.  There were still a couple groan worthy moments but it was still enjoyable.    Join me next time as I look at

Eau de Minnie &  O Futebol Clássico
