A Look at Disney Music Fridays # 184: Anything Goes Yet Again (TV Edition)

Hello & welcome back to A Look at Disney and after a long break off, we return to Music Fridays and I figured the best way to start out was just by doing another edition of Anything Goes but this time, I decided to make it a TV edition.  With that outta the way, let's begin.

Muppet Babies Theme

We kick things off with a cover of a theme for Muppet Babies as the reboot premiered today (the day you are reading this)  And look, don't go in looking for the original.  And I will say that for what it is, I enjoy this song. It is a nice cover that does a good job homaging the original song.

Grown Up Enough - Elena of Avalor

Yeah, this is one of my favorite Disney songs that I have heard in quite some time and it pains me that it's not available to purchase off  Itunes yet as it is just so good.   Elena of Avalor has a lot of great music and while this isn't the most emotional song (there might be a future crossover where I delve deeper into the show's music) on the show, it is my favorite song from the show and part of that comes from it's the first song that Isabelle (my fave character got to sing solo) and the fact that as a younger sibling, I can totally get where she is coming from.   In that,  when you are the youngest in a family, you want people to respect you and treat you maturely and sometimes that may mean making claims like saying that you are Grown Up Enough as Isa did here.  Yeah, it's a bold statement but kids aren't known to be subtle.  But still, I love this song and I totally relate to Isa's declaration here as it is something that kids do all the time.

Ready as I'll Ever Be - Tangled: The Series

Our final song is a preview of things to come on the Tangled: The Series retrospective when we get to the season finale.  One of the best things about this show is getting Menken & Slater back for the music as it keeps up the quality that was present in the movie and often times surpasses it in a huge way and this song is a great example of that. For as much as I love the movie,  I think this song is better than anything in the movie. Granted, you'd need to watch the show (and please do, as it's the best thing that has aired on Disney Channel since Kim Possible) to understand the weight and gravitas in this song as this first season has been building to this moment and you need the setup for the payoff to be rewarding and trust me, that it is so rewarding after watching the journey that these characters take.  As they earned this big moment as they head towards the path that'll lead them towards the final fight.

For the most part that is,   Varian, as we discussed on A Look at Disney, Gets Tangled,  he by this point has become the villain and he even acknowledges that and it is really tragic but very understandable as he felt that he had no other option.   If you want more detail on Varian's tragic arc, read my Villains Profile on him.   This song is just so good as is most of the music in Tangled: The Series.

I hope that you enjoyed my look at these TV songs.   Peace!
