Timothy The Mouse: The Second Best Disney Mouse

Note: This was the firs offical post of my blog series over on  That Guy With the Glasses

Welcome to the first official post of A Look at Disney.   In this post, our very first post we will be taking a look at Timothy the Mouse.    As the title suggests, he is the second best Disney mouse.  It should be obvious who the first one is.  I’m a huge fan of Timothy the Mouse and there are many reasons as to why I love him.    I also like the character of Timothy for his Brooklyn accent; it just makes him seem cool. I love this character so much that when I saw this little guy at my local  Disney Store, I had to pick him up.

There are many reasons, I like this character and perhaps the biggest one of all is that we share the same first name, Timothy.  To me, it pretty sweet to have a Disney character that you share a name with.     Speaking of Timothy the Mouse’s name, there are actually two correct versions of his name. The first is the standard; Timothy the Mouse and the other is the less frequently used Timothy Q.   Mouse.   Now I’m not certain on this but I want to say the Q. stands for Quincy.    I may be wrong and if that is the case, please feel free to correct me.

Timothy was the second official sidekick after Jiminy Cricket and in many ways; his role in “Dumbo” is similar to that of Jiminy’s in “Pinocchio”.     Just as Jiminy Cricket is there to guide Pinocchio, Timothy is there to help Dumbo.   Both Timothy and Jiminy want to see their respective hero shine and they are willing to help however they can.  While both want to help their respective heroes, it feels more genuine with Timothy all the way through whereas with Jiminy, it seems in the beginning all he cares about is the job he has been given and not the hero. I also like that he is there to guide Dumbo through all of Dumbo’s obstacles. No matter how big, they may be and let’s face it; a flying elephant will have some pretty big obstacles.  Plus Timothy stars in a movie where the hero’s name is easier to spell.
As I stated up top, I feel that Timothy is more genuine with his actions and the beginning of this clip proves it.  Here, he takes Dumbo to go see Dumbo’s mom.  He is truly thinking of Dumbo, who by this point has become his best friend.
So ends, the first official post of A Look at Disney. Keep in mind that these are my opinions and it is okay if you do not agree with them.  Feel free   to explain why you do or not agree with me all I ask is that you refrain from using profanity.   Well I see only one way fit to close this out.
