My Favorite Disney Restaurants

No matter, when your on vacation, you always have to take time and eat.  Sure, you could just go to a burger stand to get dinner buy why do that when Disney has some fabulous restaurants at both it's parks and on it's cruise ships.  Now like all great Disney films or rides, these restaurants go one step above and make your time dining there, a truly entertaining and immersive experience  So join me as I take a look at my favorite Disney Restaurants To Dine At.

Animator's Palate  - Disney Cruise Line

Now this restaurant can be found on both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder.  Two of the ships that are part of the Disney Cruise line.  It can also be found on the newest ship, the Disney Dream and I assume that it will be on the sister ship of the Dream, the Disney Fantasy.  This is perhaps hands down my favorite Disney dining experience.  Now some of you may wonder what makes this restaurant so special.  Well, being a Disney buff and seeing all these Disney characters on the walls to me is great. It almost feels as though you have stepped into their world.  Now the greatest part of this restaurant is the show that restaurant gives you.  You see when you first enter the park,  everything including the vests that the waiters were are in black and white representing the  early days of animation but as your course the restaurant comes to life as the walls go from just being black and white and the frames actually play scenes from classic Disney and Pixar films. During the course of your meal though these scenes will also be played in black and white as well. You got have a sharp eye because your favorite Disney moment may come to life and you don't want to miss it.  Though if your a big time Disney fan,  your eyes may wander because there is just so much really great stuff to look at.  Really I can do no justice in describing how great this restaurant, you guys need to view this for yourselves.  Luckily,  here is a YouTube video showing the transformation.

Hoop-De-Doo  Musical Revue - Fort Wilderness Resort (Walt Disney World)

Now my family and I have a tradition that whenever we go to Walt Disney World, that we have to start off our time there with a dinner at Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue.  When you step into this restaurant you are transported back into the time of the old west.  You'll have a great time with an awesome show with wonderful music.  If you get a table close tho the stage one of the ladies may flirt with one of the many men in your group such as what one of the ladies did with my uncle the second time, we ate there.  Besides the great music, your food literally comes out in a bucket load and it actually is delivered in a bucket.  The amount of food is endless and your meal ends with one of the best and biggest strawberry shortcakes that I have ever had in my life.  Great music and everything makes this a must for me and my family.

Lumiere's - Disney Magic (Disney Cruise Line)

I think it is safe to call this the star restaurant of  the Disney Magic.  Now it should be no surprise which film or character that this film is based on.  The best way to describe this restaurant is by saying that it is a formal restaurant that uses the charm and eloquence of Beauty and the Beast.  What is really cool, here is that the lights are actually the Enchanted Rose and I don't know how well you guys can make out the mural that is actually a painting of  the dance from Beauty and the Beast.   This restaurant is rather quaint compared to the others that I have mentioned but that works int it's favor.  It is a nice and simple restaurant  and I think this is a great place for a romantic dinner as well. Now I wan to be something else up, here.  Currently, Fanstayland at the Magic Kingdom is going through  major expansion  and the park will be getting two new castles.  They are Prince Eric's castle and Beast's castle.  Now this does bring me to my next point.

Here is what Beast's castle will look like and keep mind that it isn't open just yet but when it does, there is going to be another Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant aptly titled Be Our Guest Restaurant.  I don't know much about this restaurant but with a name like that, it makes me wonder if they are going to make this restaurant a Lumiere's clone or try to give it it's own theming. I wouldn't be too surprised if they decide to theme around the "Be Our Guest" song number. Although the concept art shows it to look more like the ballroom scene from the film which is kind of similar to Lumiere's.  Either way, I'm excited about this because I love these restaurants that are themed around the films.

While were on the subject of Beauty and The Beast themed restaurants, I want to bring up another restaurant that will be in Fanstayland and across from Beast's castle.  I give you Gaston's Tavern.

Now it should be no surprise what this restaurant is based off of. For those of you that aren't sure, this is based on the tavern from the film where the "Gaston" song number is done. Personally, I think this is a brilliant idea. Beauty and The Beast had this tavern and the Imagineers saw that and realized they could use this element of the film in the expansion in Fanstayland to make it stand out even more. Also I may be wrong with saying this but I think this is one of the few restaurants based around a Disney villain.  That is something else I love about this idea.  We have so many restaurants based around the heroes and supporting characters but to have a villain is a really cool idea and the tavern gives you enough to work with and I wouldn't be too surprised if they to bring the lyrics from this song to life in a visual form somehow.  With Gaston being one of my favorite Disney villains and I'm truly excited for this restaurant because it is something that I feel has been lacking and personally I would love to see more villain themed restaurants.

I hope you have enjoyed this look at some of my favorite Disney restaurants and two future restaurants that I'm very excited about seeing the life of day.  Here's a question for ya, besides Gaston, what Disney villain could work as a theme for a restaurant?
