Christmas: A Very Possible Christmas (Kim Possible Episode Review)

Hello & welcome back to the Christmas celebrations as we take a  look at the Christmas episode of Kim Possible.  I wanted to review this last year but I ran out of time,  I'm just so happy to get talk about this episode as I think it's so sweet.  Anyways with that out of the way, let's begin.

Episode Title

A Very  Possible Christmas

I really love the title for this episode at it reminds me of those old Christmas variety shows, where  it would A Very Insert Title Here Christmas.

The Plot

This episode had  a very cute plot.  It's Christmas Eve and Ron went on over to the Possible family household to spend Christmas with the Possibles and we see them go through their different festivities.   Ron seems to love spending Christmas with the Possibles and he also has a tradition of watching his favorite Christmas special,  The Six Tasks of Snowman Hank.

However it had been canceled and that puts Ron in a bit of  down mood.   Later on,  KP gives Ron his Hanukkah present (recall I mentioned that Ron is Jewish in the Top 6) and he loves,  he didn't get  Kim a good present,  all he got for her was a gift card for Bueno Nacho.   Later on the Kimmunicator,  Wade calls just to wish KP a Merry Christmas but right at that moment, he gets a hit that Shego stole a battery for Dr. Drakken.   KP wasn't around and Ron decides to give Kim the perfect present,  Christmas with her family as he decides to go on the mission solo.   Rufus' reaction along to this is just priceless.  Ron does go on the mission solo and at first, he does well against Dr. D but then the two get into a back and forth of pushing buttons and they even send out the escape pods as Dr. D's HQ was a ship that went up into space and Ron accidentally hit self-destruct.   So, Ron and Drakken are stuck in the North Pole.  So Ron's solo mission went awry.   Later Wade sends KP a new Kimmunicator and tells Kim about how Ron went on a mission solo.  And that's he now missing and he had tracked down different escaped pods,  Kim goes all over the world checking the pods but Ron isn't in any of them.  The Possible family doesn't want to miss Christmas with KP, so they decide to go on the mission and help KP.   Meanwhile Shego gets a call from Dr. D and at first ignores it because she's on vacation but she later checks it when she finds out that Drakken paid for her vacation.  While being stranded alone Ron and Drakken start out bickering but they soon come together over their love of Snowman Hank and it is around this time that KP finds Ron and Drakken.   Drakken has decorated up the garbage escape pod that he Ron escaped in with some impromptu decorations and says that since it's Christmas, there'll be a truce but once New Year's comes along, he'll go back to his evil ways and the episode ends, the way Ron would've wanted it to with Snowman Hank.

All in all, I think that this was a cute episode with a lot of great moments.

Characters

Now I'll be breaking this down into Main, Supporting, & Villain.

Main Characters

Ron Stoppable voiced by Will Friedle

Ron was just awesome in this episode.  It came through that he really cared fro KP and just wanted to give her the best Christmas ever and that's why he went on the mission solo. It was just so sweet and I wanted to see Ron succeed because all of the time, he's only seen as the bumbling sidekick.  Now, he came close but Ron's clumsiness got in the way but hey, he tried.  Also,  there was a very sweet moment when KP kissed Ron under the mistletoe.

Now I should mention that this episode took place in season 2 before Ron and KP were a couple.

Kim Possible voiced by Christy Carlson Romano

Just as much as we saw how Ron cared about KP, this episode also showed how much KP cared for Ron.  She was just distraught and worried when her best friend went missing. For the longest time, KP thought Ron had just gone home but as I said Wade sends her a Kimmunicator and tells her what Ron did.  This made KP even more worried that Ron was gone. She went all over to find him and just the great lengths she went to and the fact that she was not willing to give up on finding Ron, shows how much these two friends care about one another.

Supporting Characters

Wade voiced by Tahj Mowry

Now I've touched on Wade in the past briefly,  he's the one that designs all of KP's gadgets and keeps track of where she needs to go.  He really only had a bit part in the episode but that's true for most of his appearances.  He called about the mission and then again, when Ron went missing.

Dr James Timothy Possible,  Ann Possible, Jim & Tim, & Nana voiced by  Gary Cole, Jean Smart, Shaun Fleming, & Debbie Reynolds

Now besides seeing how much KP & Ron cared for one another, we also got to see how much The Possible Family cared about Kim and wanted to spend Christmas with her.  I chose this shot because the shot of them sitting down for Christmas dinner and seeing that empty chair is heartbreaking. Yeah, KP told them to have Christmas dinner without her. (Hey, they do Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve too. My family does that as well).  Dr. Possible stands up and says this isn't right and in the clip, we see The Possible family helping out KP.  They wanted to have a Christmas with Kim, so they set out to found a new way to spend it.    And they did.

Rufus voiced by Nancy Cartwright

Like with Wade, Rufus didn't have much to do in the episode but we did come to find out, he likes Eggnog.

Villains

Shego voiced by Nicole Sullivan

In the beginning Shego didn't have much to do and for a while, she wasn't even in the episode but then we saw her on vacation at a beach, when Dr. Dr is trying to call her and she just ignores it but later on, she finds out that Drakken paid for her entire trip and decides to check her phone and that's when she gets the message that he's stranded.  So, she goes to rescue him.  It was a sweet little moment showing that Drakken actually does care about Shego.

Dr. Drakken voiced by John DiMaggio

Drakken was so much fun in this episode and pairing him up with Ron was great and seeing them fight and bicker was hilarious and then the fact that a Christmas special brought them closer together and making them able to tough it out was funny yet sweet at the same time and you gotta love what Drakken did with the place at the end.

Talk about  a fast designer, now if only he was this good with his inventions.

My Final Thoughts

All in all, this is a solid Christmas episode of one of my favorite shows and I really suggest it as it just a lot of fun and it had a lot of sweet moments. Join me next time when I take a look at...
