Music Fridays # 3: Music From Kingdom Hearts & Epic Mickey

It's once again time for Music Fridays. So y'know the drill, time to take off the Mouse Ears and put on the headphones. This time though you might want to grab a game controller as this week we are heading into the world of  two Disney Games. Epic Mickey and Kingdom Hearts. As per usual, we are going to start with my picks.  First up grab your paintbrush as we head  to the Wasteland to help Mickey.

My Songs

First up is the track, The Pirates of Wasteland.    Now if you did not know, this world is based on Pirates of the Caribbean. If you listen closely, you might hear some of  the famous Pirates song in there. I love the tone of this one as it fluctuates. When I listen to this song, I feel as though I'm on a ride in the park.

Next up is Oswald's History. Oswald The Luck Rabbit was Walt Disney's first creation and he had not appeared on screen until the release of this game.  As you see Disney did not get the rights back until a few years ago when they traded a sportscaster for the rabbit. I'm happy that they got him back and I hope we see more of him in the future. Maybe Disney could release the shorts in theaters.

Now it's time to drop the paintbrush and pick up a Keyblade as we join Sora on his adventures. Now I will admit while I have played some KH 1 & KH 2 before, the only game I own is Chain of Memories but it is an all right game. Anyways, our first KH song is Simple & Clean.

Not much I can say about this song except for it is pretty catchy and sets up the relationship between Sora & Kairi perfectly.  (I hope I spelt that right)  This actually sounds like a song that could be heard on popular music station and no one would know that it was from a game. Now I can't say what importance it plays in the game since I haven't  played this game in a long time but it all right.

Our next song is the main theme to Kingdom Hearts II. It is titled Sanctuary. Now with this song it sounds as though Sora is singing about the pain he has experienced and how he wants is  a sanctuary and that is Kairi. (Again, sorry if I misspell that).  Out of the 2 KH songs, I find this one to the better of the two as it  feels more relatable and does not feel as cutesy as the first song. even though that song is not exactly cutest so to speak but this one just seems darker and more emotional if that makes any sense.

There you go, that Music Fridays # 3 and come back next Friday, when I delve into my favorite genre, We're Goin' Country. That's right Country Covers of Disney Songs.
