Dinsey Superheroes That Aren't Darkwing Duck

Hulk don't hurt  Donald, we need him for this post

Today, we will be taking a look at Disney superheroes and as the title suggests that aren't Darkwing Duck and no I'm not going to talk about  GizmoDuck either.   These supereheroes  are just a liittle diffrent from that.

No,  They're not like that either and.. thank goodness because that is just werid.

First, up we have Super Goof.   I first learned of Super Goof's existence, when he appeared on an episode of "House of Mouse".   At the time, I thought Super Goof was an original creation for the show but after doing more research, I had come to learn he had been around for quite some time.  Super Goof made his first appearance in the comic, "The Phantom Blot # 2".   Even though at the time, Goofy was just daydreaming about being a superhero and he did not actually become Super Goof until he appeared in a Donald Duck comic.  Goofy was the first Disney character to receive superpowers but others would follow.   As for Super Goof's powers, he obtains super strength and the ability to fly whenever he eats a super goober, which is just an enhanced peanut.  The one Super Goof tends to run into is that the lifespan of Super Goobers is temporary and he can revert that most inopportune time.   I also have to say that I think Super Goof has to have the most uncomfortable superhero costume I have seen.

Donald was another character to receive a superhero identity and depending on what part of the world, you are in, he is referred to by different names.  For instance in Italy, he is known as Paperinik while in the USA he is known as Duck Avenger.  I had first learned of  Donald's superhero identity when a comic starring him appeared in "Disney Adventures".

I don't believe this is the copy (sorry)

Back to Donald, in this comic, Donald was forced to become a superhero.  He didn't even want the job. Donald was just going to spend the day listening to music in his hammock but then two people come from the future and say that Donald is our last hope to save the future.  I swear one of those people looked like a Disney Gremlin.  In this comic, Donald is referred to as PK, which is an abbreviation of his Italian superhero name.   Donald is then taken to the future and he is given psychic powers.   Later on in the comic series, we learn that Donald was only given the superpowers because everyone else that the two people from the future went to did not fit the costume. So in other words, Donald was only given these superpowers because he is the only the one that could fit the costume. I feel much better knowing that the savior of the future is Donald Duck and I feel even knowing that he was only chosen because he was the only one, who fit the costume.

"The Duck Knight Returns" Is a 4-issue miniseries starring Darkwing.  I mainly want to talk about the title since this the first thing that caught my eye and it came to me that this title works on three different levels. First, it serves a parody.  Because as any Batman can inform you,  "The Dark Knight Returns" was a 4 issue mini series and being a Disney fan, I know that Darkwing is meant to be a parody of Batman.  Secondly it refers to all the years since the "Darkwing Duck" tv series ended its run. Lastly, it also plays into the story itself because Drake Mallard has given up the mantle of being Darkwing and decides to live a normal life.
I should note that BOOM studios! meant "The Duck Knight Returns" to be a one time special but because of postivie fan reaction, Darkwing is now getting the comic bok treatment.

In honor of  The Terror that Flaps in the Night, I will close this post with his saying  but there is only one duck who can truly deliver it.
