The Disney World Essentials

Back when I was still a Boy Scout, he would go over what was called the 10 Essentials when perparing for a camping trip. These were just your basic items such as a first aid kit or flashlight that you would want to make the trip a bit more enjoyable. Well I have found that after going to Disney World, 6 times, there is also a list of things you may want to have with you on your trip there. I give you The Disney World Essentials. These are the items taht can help you get through the resort with a little more ease and make your stay there much more fun. What are they? Read the list and find out.  I'll be skipping the obvious tickets as this meant for after you get in the park.

1. A Map

You can either pick up a park map at the hotel you are staying at the night before you go to the park of your choice or pick one up when you go through the entrance. I suggest you get a map before going to the park as it will give you time to study the map. Figure out what rides, you want go on.They should let you know where you can find certain characters in case you want to do get your picture taken with one and tehy usually identify which ride has a Fastpass.  That is something else you may want to look into. If  your going with a group of people, make sure you have enough maps for each person. Your best bet would to get one for each person in your party in case you get separated. If that does happen choose a location as a meeting ground on the map for that situation. In the end, this is something that you are really going to want to have with you.

2. A Bag

You don't want have to keep that map in your hand all day, do you?  Of course not! You'll probably buy some stuff at the parks as well. That's why you should take a bag with you. So that you have something to put all of your stuff in. You want your hands to be free. That's why I say that your best would be to go with a backpack that way, you don't have to worry about the handle getting sticky from the sweat on your hand.  Now if your going with a group of people and you do take a bag with you that does mean that someone may have to sit out a ride sometimes as to protect your stuff.  That is something that you and your group will have to figure out though.

3. Cell Phone

This one again is if your going with a part. Just as with the map, take your cell phone with you in case your party either decides to split up and do their own thing or in case you guys get lost from each other. As I said before, pick a location within the park to meet up in case either one of these events occur.  Your best bet for a meeting location would be the hub or centerpiece of the park. Now there are four parks and they each have their own centerpiece.

4. Know The Centerpieces of Each Park

This brings me to my next point. Just as with the map and how you should study it. When you get to the park, take a look at the centerpiece and take a picture of it with your mind or even your phone if you have to. Because these are your  best bets for meeting places. Here is a list of the centerpieces of each park with a picture alongiside them.

Magic Kingdom  - Cinderella Castle

EPCOT

Animal Kingdom - Tree of Life

Disney's Hollywood Studios -  The Sorcerer's Hat

So long as you can find these in the park, you should be good to go.

Now there is one more thing in The Magic Kingdom that you can look for. Look for this staute of Walt & Mickey and you'll be fine as well.

5. Water

Again, you can either buy this in the park or take it in yourself but keep in mind that you will be in Orlando and it can get pretty hot down there. You don't want to get dehydrated so just have water on standby. It doesn't matter if it is in a bottle like the one pictured here or if it's in a plastic bottle just make sure you have water with you. Becasue you don't want dehydration to ruin this trip.

There you have it, these are just some but not all of the Disney World Essentinals. These are just the ones that I could think of and I hope that you enjoyed this list and perhaps even found it useful if your planning a trip to Disney World anytime soon. Oh, before I forget there is one last Essentinal that no first time Disney Park goer should be without.
