Argh, welcome back aboard me ship, the SS Fluttershy and today, we be taking a look at covers from the songs of Peter Pan. Let's begin.
Second Star To The Right - Jonatha Brooke
Our first cover is of perhaps of the most famous song from Peter Pan and one that could give a solid run for Disney theme song alongside "When You Wish Upon A Star" and one of for this version... yawn. I'm sorry but there is no life, in this version. It's just boring. Compared to the original that had an exciting opening that you got excited whereas this one feels more like a lullaby and I'm not saying that can't be done. It's just so dull and lifeless that there is nothing there. Then again, this was used to open Return To Never Land, so that doesn't surprise me that there wasn't much effort put into this cover.
You Can Fly, You Can Fly, You Can Fly - On The Record
Now I know that the singers in this one may sound a little too old but they're from a musical revue stage show, On The Record that had a loose plot of putting together a Disney compilation soundtrack and hey, anytime I can feature On The Record makes me happy as it's my all time favorite Disney soundtrack and while this version of the song is relatively short as it leads into another song, for what we hear, it's not that bad.
Your Mother and Mine
I don't know the name of the young lady that is singing as I just randomly found this on YouTube and WOW, is she good. It's very sweet and precious and almost dream like. It sounds like something you'd hear in a stage production. This is really good.
Never Smile At A Crocodile - The Muppets
What's funny is that this was actually cut from the film but mas made appearances with it's lyrics such as on a Disney Sing-Along and here, you hear it being sung on The Muppet Show and I gotta say, the lyrics fits the silly and zany atmosphere that The Muppets inhabit. It's pretty good.
There you have it, my look at some Peter Pan Covers. I hope that you've enjoyed this. Peice!
