Hey guys, the final Adventure article is being worked on. It's going to be a cross over review of Peter Pan with the The Second Opinion but first, I wanted to do something for T-kun. After writing such a lovely poem for me. Now seeing as Tiana is her favorite Disney princess, I thought why not do a Top 6 Tiana Moments. With that out of the way, let's begin.
6. Teaching Naveen How To Cut A Mushroom
This is a small and tender moment but it's important as it shows the two of them starting to bond as Tiana is able to use her cooking skills to teach Naveen, some skills as he's had everything done for him in his life and here, we see Tiana get to pass her love of cooking onto someone else and use the skills that she has acquired over the years to teach someone else, something as basic as cutting a mushroom and it's a sweet and tender moment because you see these two start to click and get along here.
5. Exhausted Tiana
This is a brief moment but it is important because this exhausted look here shows how hard Tiana is willing to work for her dream and that no job is beneath to get what she wants. It's a small moment but an important nonetheless in showing the audience, what kind of person Tiana is.
4. The Balcony Scene
Can I just say how pretty, this scene is? Hmm, so gorgeous. Anyways, this scene is important because it shows that even after being rejected and turned down because of Tiana's status as ahem, woman, she isn't going to give up on her dream. She sees that star and remembers what her daddy told her, wishing will only take you so far, you have to work for your dream and here, she remembers that as she looks out on the star.
3. Almost There
I love how the animation changes to a completely different style here and sure, this is an "I Want" song but like "Let It Go", it's also an empowerment song as Tiana is saying that she isn't going to let anything get in her way. She knows what she wants and she is hellbent on making her dream come true, and she knows that it'll take some hard work and she is willing to put in that hard work and again, like moment number 5, it shows that she is determined.
2. Tiana's Palace Opening At The End of The Movie
Coming in at # 2, we have the opening of Tiana's Palace. Now if you'll recall my previous Top 6 Fictional Restaurants List, this came in at number 1. And that's because this had the most emotional connection to a character as this is what Tiana had been wanting throughout the entire movie and to see her dream come true is just something to put a smile on your face as she's finally made it. Sure, she had some help from Naveen in making her dream come true but she got there and now her dream is a reality. But she put the work in herself to turn that old sugar mill into her Palace and she did it. She saw it through and made her fairy tale come true.
1. "My daddy never did get what he wanted. But he had what he needed! He had love! He never lost sight of what was really important, and neither will I!"
I'm just going to borrow what I said about this scene from my upcoming Tiana cross over with T-kun.
I went this as my favorite moment because here, it clicks with Tiana that she can still have her dream without losing sight of what's truly important in life and it's also a clash of two different types of ethics. You have Tiana, the hard worker, who has always try to climb the ladder to make her dreams come true and puts work into what she wants done going up against, Dr. Facilier, a con man that tries to weasel his way out of things and looks for the easy path.
There's really not to much more, I can add to that. That basically covers, why this scene is go good for Tiana as a character as you have her going up against someone that has always taken the easy path and has never done day's work in his life.
T-kun, thank you again for the poem. It was lovely and captured my love of Disney, quite well and I loved the bit about Rapunzel very much. It got a pretty good laugh outta me. I hope that you enjoyed this list as I have enjoyed your poems and working with you on both of our cross overs. Peace!
