Welcome to back my week long at the Disney Mainstays. Today, we will be taking a look at the two most famous playful Disney
rodents chipmunks, Chip & Dale. This one is going to be a bit trickier as their history is not well established compared to Goofy or Donald. Just like last time, I'll give you a brief bio, my favorite moment and my favorite cartoon. Let's begin.
Chip & Dale's Bio
Chip & Dale first appeared in the short Private Pluto, at the time however the did not have names and both of their noses were the same color. Chip & Dale would go on to become antagonists for Pluto. Why these shorts were fun, I always felt bad for Pluto as he would get scolded by Mickey for something that the Chipmunks did. They would later go on to become antagonists in many Donald shorts. These are some of the funniest because of their playful attitude mixed in with Donald's short temper. It is just so funny and I find that I enjoy this pairing a whole lot more. Chip & Dale were not officially named until the short titled Chip & Dale was released and in this they were antagonists to Donald. I'm sad to report that I have not seen this short and I don't much about these characters compared to the others. It would not be until the '50s when Chip & Dale would start headlining their own cartoons. However only three solo Chip & Dale cartoons were ever made. Just as with Goofy though Chip & Dale helped to sweep in the Disney Afternoon era with Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers. A show that they originally were never meant to star in because at the time Disney had wanted to do a cartoon similar to the Indiana Jones films with a new character. Disney CEO, Esiner did not like that idea and said why not use the chipmunks. Thus one of the coolest Disney shows was born. I'm sorry but I have to include this video.
My Favorite Chip & Dale Moment
My favorite Chip & Dale moment are not really moment per Se but rather memories of two Chip & Dale items that I used to own. First up, is this Rescue Rangers duffel bag.
I used to own a Rescue Rangers duffel bag akin to that I don't actually remember using it for anything. Perhaps I used it for a sleepover but I loved it because I just that it was the coolest thing ever to have a bag with cartoon characters on it. I was a kid. Sadly, I no longer have that bag bu writing about Chip & Dale reminded me of it.
The next one can technically be consider a moment. I am a big collector of the Disney trading pins and my very first pin was a Chip & Dale acorn pin. I had that pin for three years until I traded it for another pin. Now, I regret trading it because nothing can replace the magic of buying my first Disney pin. Perhaps, I will get a new Chip & Dale pin down the road. In case you are wondering, it looked something like this pin.
My Favorite Chip & Dale Cartoon
As I mentioned earlier, I think some of the best Chip & Dale shorts are the ones where they are paired up with Donald. This one shows how well these three characters play off of each other with a little Christmas spirit.
Maybe someone can clear this up but does anyone know if Chip & Dale are brothers or are they just best friends?

So congrats to everyone who voted for After Today Live that has been locked in and will appear on the list. There is still time to vote though and don't forget to say why you chose the song you did as I would like to use your words in the countdown. Here is a link to where you can vote.
