Halloween: Top 6 Animated TV Villains from The "'00s - "10's

Hello & welcome back to A Look at Disney Halloween.  Today,  I am turning my attention to Disney's animated TV shows as they have had some pretty good villains. With that out of the way, let's begin.  And just so you know, I did try to limit myself to one villain per show. You have no idea how much harder that made this.

6.  Dr.  Heinz Doofenshmirtz  - Phineas and Ferb

I like Doof because of how inept, he is.  Doof is usually the cause of his own downfalls.  He isn't very good but, that is what makes him so entertaining and you actually want to see him succeed.   I mean, he is so inept that even his 2nd Dimension counterpart can't stand him.

5.  Cedric The Great - Sofia The First

Okay, so  Cedric isn't a very good villain.  He is rather inept and clumsy but that is what makes him so entertaining,  and go figure that a villain from a Disney Junior show would land on this list.  I credit this to Jess Harnell's brilliant voice work.  For those of you who haven't read my review of the Sofia the First TV film.   Cedric is an evil sorcerer that wants to take over the kingdom and  to do so, he needs so Sofia's amulet,  but he has to have it given to him by Sofia willingly otherwise, it's just a necklace that does no good. The Amulet of Avalor (picture below) as it holds special powers.   Now, he isn't very good as I mentioned as he is quite bad at magic and it has been shown that he can be a nice guy in the episode, Cedric's Apprentice as he taught Sofia how to do a magic trick for class and we also see that he grew up with one good parent, his father was a noble wizard and his mother was an evil witch (voiced by Jim Cummings and Russi Taylor respectively). And another thing that holds me back from placing him higher on the list is there is one fatal flaw in his master plan to use the Amulet to take over the Tri-Kingdom area.  It was shown in the The Amulet and The Anthem, that not only does the amulet grant powers for good deeds as that is how Sofia is able to talk to animal, it also curses them for doing bad deeds as it caused the princess to croak after bragging to her friends.  And clearly, trying to take over an entire kingdom is a bad deed, Cedric would have a curse worse then that, if he tried to go through with his plan. Ah, well Jess Harnell sells the role, quite convincingly.   And even though he isn't very good at magic,  he  is just so much fun and easily had one of the best songs from the show.

4.   Lil' Gideon -  Gravity Falls

Lil' Gideon along with Cedric The Great is  one of  two newer baddies to appear on this list.  He has a cute demeanor and uses that to his advantage to get what he wants.  He had the entire town of Gravity Falls save for the Pines family tricked into thinking that he was a saint and lovable.  He used that to get the Mystery Shack,  the Pines' residence as he was looking for a specific journal that held the secrets to Gravity Falls.  The thing that makes him work so well as a villain is that he is so dishonest, deceitful and will do anything to get his way.

3. Warp Darkmatter/Agent Z - Buzz Lightyear of Star Command

Warp Darkmatter was once Buzz Lightyear's  partner in the Space Ranger program but he feigned his own death as he had been working for the Evil Emperor Zurg.  And even in the little bit, we saw of the movie that served as the pilot, when he was a Space Ranger, he was shoot first, ask later cop.   He would go on to become Zurg's top henchmen and for a while, adopted the moniker of Agent Z.  Now the big thing that makes him unique as a bad guy and the main reason, I'm listing over Zurg is that he is twisted, vile and evil and add on that he knows all of Buzz's moves.  That made him a force to be reckoned with and also, the entire time he was a part of Star Command, he had built a relationship with Buzz.  With Buzz thinking it was real but it was just Warp trying to get intel from Star Command and that is what makes him so ruthless.

2. Shego - Kim Possible

Ah, yes my favorite KP villain and one of the most put together on this list.  What makes her so great?  Everything!  She is snarky,  strong,  KP's equal and in a way, a reflection of what Kim would've become if KP had become evil.  Because Shego started out as a hero with her siblings, Team Go but once she got a taste of power, she let it go to her head and became evil and she found that she liked being evil more then being a hero.  She was relegated to being second banana to Dr. Drakken but when Shego got going and as seen in the excellent A Sitch In Time, when she had the power, she was nearly unstoppable.   I mean again, A Sitch In Time, gave us a glimpse into an alternate future where she won.  And all she had to do was break up Kim and Ron.  With all of this said,  who is my # 1 then. Well, let's find out.

1.  The Huntsman - American Dragon: Jake Long

The Huntsman is one of  the most ruthless, and cunning and is considered the 4th most dangerous threat to the magical community.  He is the leader of the Huntsclan and has no issues killing any magical creatures or any humans that ally with magical creatures.  And he has killed in the past, you see the dragon skull, he wears as a helmet.  That is from a dragon he killed and he wears it as a trophy.  By the way, in this show's universe dragons are actually people that have been given the ability to turn into dragons.  So, he basically killed a human with no remorse.  Dude, that's creepy. He's also extremely bitter towards dragons and I attribute this to when the main hero,  Jake Long traveled back in time and humiliates a then young geeky and gawky and scrawny  Huntsman.  Also,  he kidnapped  his "niece",  Rose (the show's love interest and Huntsgirl (who btw can kick but))  from her real family, when she was first born because she had the mark of the Huntsclan.  And also I can't be certain on this on one but I think he is one of  the few Disney TV villains to be killed off.  Here just read.

Rose knocks and kills him with a shot from her staff weapon.

That is amazing.   Disney,  I normally don't say this but how come, you didn't go through  with the live action Jake Long film. You could've made this a  fantasy trilogy.  It would've been AWESOME!!!!  And we need more dark villains like him on your shows.  And if you ever revive this show,  bring back The Huntsman.  I know it's stupid and he had an awesome death.  And if you do,  bring back Jeff Bennett to voice him because no one else not even villain voice extraordinaire, Clancy Brown can capture the ruthlessness of The Huntsman.  The Huntsman is one of the best villains to ever appear on any Disney animated series and if you haven't seen American Dragon: Jake Long,  stop reading this list and go watch it now.  As it up there with Kim Possible as one of the great animated series to ever air on Disney Channel.

There you have it,  my Top 6 Animated TV Villains from The '00s.  Join me tomorrow as I take a break from Disney for my entry in the 31 Days of Halloween from The Creature.
