Hello & welcome back to A Look at Disney. Yesterday, I went over the toy line, Palace Pets. And I pointed out that my biggest issue was that none of the pets from the films were in this line-up. I've decided to do a follow-up looking at every princess and their pets. Hoping to prove something. With that out of the way, let's begin.
1. Woodland Creatures - Snow White
Okay, so Snow White doesn't really have a pet, the closest, she has are Woodland Creatures friends. So, Disney could've either gone through with this line and not include a pet for Snow White or have made this sub-series of the main line.
2. Bruno & Major - Cinderella
Les pointed this one out in the comments and Bruno had been with Cinderella forever. And he is most assuredly, Cindy's pet dog. Again, he probably isn't the most well-known character from the film and that's why this line-up would've been perfect for him. Introduce a new generation of Disney fans to lesser-known characters. Now as for the second character, Major, that's Cindy's horse that her father gave to her. It's clear you guys wanted to include horses in this toy line, well here's one of many that you could've included.
3. Aurora - N/A
Princess Aurora doesn't have a pet, so jet leave her out.
4. Max - Ariel
Okay, this one is a stretch considering that Max is Eric's dog but as this picture shows, Max took a liking to Ariel after they got married and by that logic, I would argue that Max is just as much Ariel's dog as Eric's.
7. Phillipe and Sultan - Belle
Again, Belle has another horse that could've been used with Phillipe, he is the family horse and then there Sultan, Beast's dog, now granted, it's a stretch to imagine that he'd be used because you don't see him as a dog until the very end of the film but they gave Belle a dog, and if they really wanted to her have a dog, why not use Sultan. Again, I use the same logic that I did with Max, that after Beast and Belle got married, he became as much Belle's pet as Beast's .
8. Rajah and Abu - Jasmine
Look, you guys gave Jasmine, a pet tiger, when she already had one and you didn't really need to do that because Rajah is a good character. And yeah, it's a stretch to include Abu here but with how popular, Abu is, he should be included. Even though, he's more Aladdin's pal, then Jasmine's but we havbe seen the two of them have adventures together.
9. Meeko, Flit, & Percy - Pochantas
You guys wanted to give Pocahontas, a pet raccoon, why didn't you just use Meeko and on that, you also have Flit, and Percy. who is unique being the only villain pet to become a pet of the protagonist at the end of the film. You guys were keen on giving, the ladies more than one animal and will, this film provided three pets.
10. Little Brother, Cri-kee, and Khan - Mulan
Again, Mulan gave you guys , three animals to work with. Starting with Little Brother, yeah, he wasn't in that much of the movie but he's called Little Brother, that's a petty good indication that he is Mulan's dog. And while Cri-kee is more Grandma's pet, he was in enough of the film to be thought of as a pet for Mulan and again including him could disprove the notion that little girls don't like bugs or reptiles. And finally, Khan, Mulan's horse. You guys wanted horses, here's another one.
11. Tiana - N/A
Tiana doesn't have one, so leave her out.
12.. Pascal and Maximus - Rapunzel
Again, as I brought up yesterday, Pascal and Max have just as much merchandise as Rapunzel, out of the Tangled characters. And most little girls in my theater, when I saw this film loved these two. So, why not include them.
12. Angus - Merida
They didn't even include Merida at all and yet, she has Angus. There were horses in that line-up and here's another one that could've been included.
13. Anna & Elsa - N/A
The Royal Sisters didn't have a pet because they didn't need one. So again, just leave them out.

Looking at the pets here, there are 16, count them, 16 animals that could be used. There was no need to create new characters, when you already had 16 pets/animals that could've been used. This is just my opinion. So out of 14 princesses, you have 16 animals that could've been used and only 4 ladies tat don't have pets. When your number of animals outweighs the number of ladies, you didn't need to create new pets for this line-up. Are some of these pets not as well-known? Well, yes but why not use them and use this as way to introduce the lesser known characters. Peace!
