Now, I know what you your thinking. Everyone has done a list of underrated Disney songs. Yes, but all the songs I have seen on those are not as underrated as ones I have here today. I have decided to dig a little deeper and go past the usual pick. Let's get started.
6. Little Wonders - Meet the Robinsons
This beautiful little song sung by Rob Thomas is sung right at the end of the movie, when Lewis goes back in time to see his mom but he decides not too. Because he realizes, he has a good life and there is no need to hold onto the past. Perhaps my favorite lines from this song come from the beginning, "Let it go/Let it roll right off your shoulder/Don't you know/ the hardest part is over". These lines establish that everything is okay and will be okay. We can't hold onto to the past because that will stop us from having a future.
5. Disco Mickey Mouse - Disco Mickey Mouse
This song right here is from an old Disco record titled Disco Mickey Mouse. I don't know who sings it but I love it, partially because it is so cheesy. But that's Disco. It's fun and good for a laugh every now and then. While it may seem like a novelty song, it's one I love.
4. Candle on The Water - Pete's Dragon
This beautiful and simple song from "Pete's Dragon" is Nora to her lover, Paul who is lost at sea and how she will always be there to guide him no matter what. It's a simple song but the message is clear, there will always be someone to guide you no matter what it takes.
3. Feed The Birds - Mary Poppins
While this song is from one of the most famous Disney movies. It tends to get overlooked for other songs such as "Let's go Fly a Kite". This song is beautiful and with Julie Andrews, it is even more emotional. The song here is simply a metaphor for treat your fellow man with kindness with the birds representing your fellow men.
2. Minnie's Yoo-Hoo
This song right here is a Disney treasure. You see long before there was the Mickey Mouse Club. There were a number a Mickey Mouse fan clubs and just as how Boy Scout have an oath, the Mickey Mouse fan clubs had an anthem. The anthem being "Minnie's Yoo-Hoo". If this is a Disney treasure, why it is on this list, you wonder? Simple, the popularity of this song has waned over the years and has been replaced with the "The Mickey Mouse Club Jamboree" as the official Mickey Mouse song. While that song is a classic, all Disney fans should give this song a listen.
1. There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow - Carousel of Progress
This song right here comes from the Carousel of Progress. a Disney attraction you should check if only for this song. This song along with many other classic Disney songs was written by The Sherman Brothers. Again, I picked this song for what it says there is always a tomorrow if you day did not turn out well and you still have chance to make your dream real.
There you have these are the top 6 Disney songs that I feel are truly underrated.
