Take A Look at Disney

Q & A Day (We Just got a Special Guest X 2)

Hey guys, I have decided to hold a Q & A today as tomorrow I'll hit a big milestone. Anyways here you go.
All right guys. 1 blog away from # 100. That's right this little blog happens to be # 99 and today I have decided to have a Q & A session.  You can ask me anything be it about me, Disney, my blogs, the blog writing process, my story arc. The only thing that I ask you refrain from asking are any questions about my family  as I which not to talk about them here. Don't get me wrong I love them but this is my thing.  Also please leave no more than 3 questions at a time as I would be able to answer as many questions as possible. If you have more than three questions, leave your first set, then let someone else ask their questions and come back later to ask your extra questions.

With that said, I'd like to start this off by asking you guys some questions.

1.  What was the 1st post of A Look at Disney, you read?
2. What is your favorite Look at Disney blog.

There you go, that's how you do it.  Just leave your questions in the comments and as soon as I se them I will answer them

BBHM -  " I honestly don't remember what the first one I read was, but I was entertained enough to keep reading. My favorite is still the sad songs one. I just really enjoyed going through sad songs as I have always been of the opinion they are harder to do than upbeat songs.

Well first of all thank you fro the kind words. Now as for Recess, great show desrves to be remebered as the flagship show of One Saturday Morning. The movie was good and that should have closed it out but we had to get soem DVD follow ups. Now granted they are not as bad as the direct-tovideo sequels but just don't why they couldn't let it go. I mena Taking on The Fifith Grade, nice idea, see the gang  enter the next grade.  Find out Miss Finster is now their teacher. Excuse me, I think M Night can help respond to that.

But then they went and  made All Growed Down,  that felt like they were trying to rip off the success of Rugrats. Even after the DVD's they couldn't let it die because Toon Disney did a Recess/Lilo & Stitch crossover. So in conclusion ot that question, Recess was a great show that even after it stopped airing the brand was  still being used and I wanted to say let it go, move on!

Now as for your next question Disney is still as proactive as ever. I mean sure we aren't seeing  Military shorts where Goofy is looking for Bin Laden or Donald in Iraq. (Possible onteset Idea?) Disney still helps where they can espeically with their employees. Two great examples I can think of when the earthquake hit Tokyo not so long ago, Disney tried to help all of the Tokyo Disney employees they could by finding them housing or bringing them stateside. Also if you have ever been to EPCOT, you should be familiar with World Showcase. Now this may not sound like it is answering your question but let me explain. Disney loves giving people opprotunities and that is why at EPCOT, they have a lot of great workers in the World Showcase that are from those countires repersented. They are over there on a Visa to work and it is great.  Disney will help whereever it is and also they are great supporters of the military and I don't know if it sitll holds true today but Walt in his supported Boy Scouts & girl Scouts. As for a time, he was a Boy Scout but with all the moving around his family he didn't stay in very long but he loved the scouts. So much so that when he was alive he would give tours of the Disney Studios for Scouts. I hope these are good enough answers for your questions.

Patrick_O  -  " Hmm... the first blog post I read... I think it must have been the Mickey Mouse one. I remember talking about Donald and his role in The Band Concert there... I think I'll have to agree about the sad songs being my favourite post thus far.
Here is a question: have you ever read the books a lot of Disney movies are based on? I read Bambi, for instance, after seeing the movie, but others, like The Rescuers or The Fox and the Hound. If so, what did you think of the book and the whole page-to-screen translation?"

Wow, I didn't realize Mickey Mouse was your first as I thought you had been reading much longer than that.  I'm a bit suprised that Sad Songs is so popular. Anywas as for your question, the only book that I have read that was turned into a Disney movie that I can think of is Holes.  Sadly, I could not finsih that book as I found it dry and boring. I think the movie got the point across better than the movie but that is all I can say. Sorry to disappoint but that is the only one I can think of.

Hey guys, I have a special guest that you can ask questions of...

Mickey Mouse

Um... This isn't going to work is it? Oh well, I guess you can keep asking me questions. Anyways this here guy is an old pal of mine, I have ahd him for the longest time and he has helped me through many times. Be it a seizure, a heartbreak or whatnot.

"PK-   You will have to forgive me for this one, but it has been one that you can find for years that well people go with... I would like to hear your opinion on it or if you arent comfortable doing it let me know :)

With that being said:

People have had rumors that when you play Pink Floyd Works (1983) with Fantasia (1940) that it fits perfectly.

Have you ever tried any Disney movies with other music and has it worked for you? Do you think Musical artists actually try this with Disney songs on purpose or is it all a pure fluke?

Thanks,

PK"

I have heard this rumor before but I have never tried it. Perhaps there is a video on YouTube of this that we could use to test this theory. As to the next part of your question,  I can't say if artists try this on purpose but it wouldn't suprise me with how many odd covers of Disney songs there are out there. In fact if you want to hear some good Disney cover and a few bad ones, I suggest this site.

Covering The Mouse

Here is a video as I was talking about with Fantasia set to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon.

I can see where people get this idea. Now another thing I know about this film is that it became part of the pshydelic movement during the '60s as  hippies loved watching this film especially when they were high. Now personally one of the weridest Disney covers or anything I have heard related to Disney would have to be this...

Also according to some research that I did for your question some people say that you cna play Fantasia to The Beatle's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and get the same thing.

That Laugh.... It can't be!

Darkfan21: Oh But it is, Moviefan

Moviefan12: What are you doing here?

Darkfan21:  How could you do a Q & A session without me?

Moviefan12: Uh well, let's see you tired to use me to take over the world, so you were  the last person I would ever think of inviting to something like this?

Darkfan21: Your still upset about that. Really that was a few months ago, you need to let it go. No crying over spilt milk as they say.

Moviefan12: Whay are you here, anyways?

Darkfan21: So that your readers can ask me some questions!

Moviefan12: How about I start?  WHY DID YOU TRY TO KILL ME?!

Darkfan21: Just part of the plan!  Be gone,  I wish to tlak to your readers.

Moviefan12: Okay but no funny stuff.

Patrick_O  Minion   Minion # 1

Which do you prefer as a means of taking over the world: death rays or deadly viruses?

Darkfan21: Firat you are on longer Patrick_O, you are now Minion # 1. Brilliant suggestion Minion # 1 but think bigger, why not a giant death ray that shoots deadly viruses. Imagine the possiblities. of course we would first attack Disney World as that is one of the most beloved places of Moviefan12.    I'll have to see if I can Dr. Insano to build this for me. Because we all need....

After that I will go after Channel Awesome starting with Linkara for far too long he has survived. However I'll  let PushingUpRoses live if she agrees to go on a date with me. Otherwishe she goes as well. Just think of it, Minion # 1. For this wonderful question you won;t have to sleep in the janitor's closet tonight.

Darkfan21: Why would I hurt Crazy Steve, he is just hobo who think he is Batman. He is basically Chester A. Bum if Chester were Batman.  Why even go after him, he is a waste of time. Do you want to sleep in the jantior's closet, Minion # 1. Do you? I have other methods of torture you know. I was saving them for the Nostalgia Critc but perhaps  Icould use them on you.

You wish to know what they are. I will lock you in  a dark room with nothing but a projector screen put on continous loop showing Garbage Pail Kids,   The Star Wars Holiday Special,  Home On The Range, Chicken Little and all of the High School Musical movies with sing-along mode tunred on. Yo uwill sing or else. Don't test me, Minion # 1. I'm not in the mood to be tested.

First of all, you have given me an idea on how to defeat Darkfan.

Oh, Darkfan...

Darkfan21: WHAT?
Moviefan12:  Seeing as this is my 99th blog,  Iwish to celebrate with a  song.
Darkfan21: Very well.
Moviefan12: Timon, Pumbaa hit it.

Darkfan21: Curses, another Disney song NOOO!

Moviefan12: Yep, now leave.

Darkfan21: Okay.

Sorry about that  folks but I had some pest control to deal with. Anyways our next question comes from Dawn_Heart. A very nice lady indeed.

Dawn_Heart  -   "1. The first blog I remember reading was about Daisy Duck I think.

2. My favorite would have to be Dumbo. Dumbo brought back some wonderful memories and reminded me how much I loved that movie.

My question: What is the first Disney movie you remember seeing? For me it was Lion King and that is the movie that made me fall in love with Disney."

Well isn't that something two people have now said that the first blog the remeber reading was part of my look at the Disney Mainstays. I'm glad you liked my Dumbo reveiw as that is my favorite movie.  The earliest Disney movie I remeber seeing period would have to be Aladdin.  I saw it on VHS.  Back then with my autism I couldn't exactly handle the theater but it sticks in my mind and there has to be reason why The Genie is a charcter I loved since preschool.

This was fun but time to close it out. Come back tomorrow for the big # 100th Blog.:)
