Top 6 Live Action Disney Films

All right,  I know some people wanted such as Manic_Expression wanted to talk about some of the live action Disney films. Well today, I'll be doing that but instead of reviewing one, I'll count down what I consider my Top 6 Favorite Live Action Disney Films. Before we start, films such Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks or Roger Rabbit will not be appearing on this list. Not because I don't like them but because they have both live action and animation.

6. Sky High

I just need to get this out of the way, I can't stand The Incredibles. That is the only PIXAR movie  I will not watch as I find it extremely boring. Why do I bring that movie up? Well because my number 6 pick is another Disney superhero movie. Sky High, what is I like about this film? Well it's campy and I like the campiness of the film.  I also like the idea of a high school for students learning to be superheroes.  Perhaps, I'm the only that got this vibe but I felt like the Sidekick department was the Special Ed department for this school. Now, I'm not trying to knock them because I was in Special Ed and that is what my mind thought.  I just find it nice that this movie focuses on the sidekicks even if their power aren't that great. It is rather refreshing to see the people that help the heroes get the spotlight. Also, this film had a  a lot of great throwbacks to the Silver Age and plus Lynda Carter as the Principal that was pretty cool. Sure it was just a high school movie but it felt more relatable and in my mind this one is the better superhero movie when compared to The Incridbles.

5.  National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets

I'm a sucker for Adventures that use American history. So yes, I liked The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. That said, I enjoyed both of the National Treasure movies immensely. They were great fun and seeing all those iconic places in the USA was pretty cool. There is just something about Book of Secrets that makes me like it a bit more.  I don't know what it is. It may be I had an easier time following the plot to this film and than the first and Book of Secrets didn't drag.  Also seeing the car chase was pretty cool too and the thing with them going inside Mt. Rushmore has to be one of my favorite scenes from this film. Now if  they would just make the third film They ended this one on a cliffhanger. I'm waiting, I just really want a third installment for this franchise.

4. The Rocketeer

Now if you want a fun action movie with a cool superhero that uses great historical figures such as Howard Hughes. The Rocketeer is the movie for you. For the longest time when I was little, I wanted to be The Rocketeer because I thought the whole idea of the rocket pack was pretty col. Never mind the fact that in reality having that thing that close to your body is a bad idea. But still, this film is a classic and I also love the fact that it takes place during the Golden Age of Hollywood. As someone who is into Hollywood, I find that awesome.

3.   Herbie Goes Bananas

I'm a fan of the Herbie movies.  I didn't even mind Herbie Rides Again as it was nice to actually have a new Herbie movie but Herbie Goes Bananas has to be my favorite. Why, it's nice that it is in a different location than all the previous ones. I also think that human characters are perhaps the most likable in this one. Just seeing Herbie go crazy and act silly was a lot of fun as well. Thankfully, I have all the old Herbie movies on DVD so I can watch them anytime I please.

2. Remember The Titans

Now I enjoy all of Disney's true story sports movies. There is just something about Remember The Titans that makes it stand out even more. I'm not a big fan of watching sports but the story in this movie is so good and so real, it can touch you like nothing else. It is funny and sad at the same time. Not an easy feat for a movie to pull off.

1. Follow Me, Boys

My number one favorite Live Action Disney movie is Follow Me, Boys. Part of the reason that I like this one so much is because I can realte to it. Because I was a Boy Scout and I made it to Eagle which is the highest rank. Sorry, don't mean to hoot my own horn. Anyways this film is great, it's not often you actually see movies about scouting and this was nice. Also the story is simple and I love the fact that it takes you through the life of this entire Boy Scout Troop from when it first formed to the retirement of their Scoutmaster. Fun Fact: Only one of the boys in this film was actually a Boy Scout.

There you go, these are my Top 6 Favorite Disney Live Action Films. What's your favorite Live Action Disney film?
