Hello & welcome to Pt. 1 of a special Music Fridays. First, I know I said that Oz would be this week but plans change. Anyways, today is the 98th Music Fridays and that means in two weeks, it'll be the 100th Music Fridays. I've decided that this week and next week leading up to the 100th Music Fridays to countdown my Top 20 Favorite Music Fridays of all time. So join me today, as I countdown my favorites from # 20 - # 10
20. Music Fridays # 23: I AM A MAN
Ah, easily one of my all time favorites. Where I talked about the manliest of manliest Disney songs. What brought this on? Honestly, I can't remember. I was probably watching Atop The Fourth Wall and thought it'd be funny to try and do an entire Music Fridays based around the quote
I AM A MAN
One of the sillier ideas, I've had but it paid off as I was able to find quite a lot of manly Disney songs such I'll Make A Man Out of You or of course, Gaston. And it was just so much fun, getting to show the manly side of Disney. Because I've heard so many people that Disney is kiddie's stuff. Well, they have some manly characters to boot.
19. Music Fridays # 58: Dancing with the Stars
I really liked doing this one because I love this show and because it was something different from most other Music Fridays. In that, I really wasn't focusing so much on the song but rather how they were used with the dances and seeing as more Disney songs have appeared on this great show, there may be a follow up, where I look some more at the Disney dances.
18. Music Fridays # 89: Totally Minnie
Okay, this may be wrong but this one really isn't on here because of the article but rather because of the silly little '80s conservation that transpired in the comments. Oh, don't get me wrong, this is a cute little '80s album but the conservation is actually more memorable itself. That's why it's only at # 18. I'm honestly thinking about doing a follow up to this one using all '80s. That'd be like so totally awesome. Radical, even!
17. Music Fridays # 78: The Music of Cars Land
You may have noticed but I'm a really really really big fan of Cars. It's funny but A Look at Disney's relationship with Cars is similar to that Stop The Hate's with Superman Returns. One of the earliest Can We Talk about's, I did was one defending my favorite Pixar film. And last year, when Cars Land opened, I was just geeking out because it looked so cool! And then, when I found out that there was a soundtrack released with music from this land, I knew that I had to feature it because of being the huge Cars fanboy that I am and getting to these songs that were written specifically for Cars Land was a treat as they were just a lot of fun. Although, I still don't think Mater is the best singer in the world.
16. Music Fridays # 32: Love Handel
Probably, the only time I ever featured a fictitious band on Music Fridays but Love Handel is just that good and the songs of this band from Phineas and Ferb really seemed to capture the '80s cheese perfectly such as Ain't Goth Rhythm. I think probably what I really loved the most about this one was just the idea of looking at music of a fictional band that was quite good.
15. Music Fridays # 74: 12 Days of Christmas
Now admittedly, this one did land on Top 6 Goofiest Mistakes 3 because of me not realizing that more then one princess had multiple lines in the princess version of 12 Days of Christmas. Still, it was a lot of fun to hear these different versions and I think my favorite version featured wasn't actually one of the songs but rather the A Look at Disney version, Les came up with in the comments. That was one of the sweetest things.
On the 12th day of Christmas, my true friend gave to me....

It was so much fun, coming up with my own 12 Days of Christmas for the site and if I actually had any singing talent, I would've recorded it.
14. Music Fridays # 1: Disney Afternoon Era Theme Songs
Ah, man this one takes me back. The very first Music Fridays. It just wouldn't feel right to leave the very first Music Friday off this list. I knew that I wanted to include it somewhere and this seems like the right spot to put it here. As I've said in the past, I came up with Music Fridays because at the time, I was talking so much about Disney music that I wanted to set aside one day a week to talk about Disney songs. I look back at this one and just have to chuckle a wee bit. I mean, I had such a corny catchphrase that I am so glad that I phased it out. What was it? Here...
Today, I take off the mouse ears and put on the headphones.
And I even wanted to try and set up a separate persona as DJ Moviefan. Sometimes, I wonder what I was thinking because looking back that is one of the silliest things, I've ever done. No matter, we all have to start somewhere.
13. Music Fridays # 62 & 63: On The Record
Our first mutil-parter on our list. Now this was not the first time I talked about this soundtrack on Music Fridays. As it was also featured way back on # 18. So, why didn't I include that one. I just feel that I got point across better as to why this is one of my all time favorite Disney soundtracks because it has some of the best Disney covers, I've ever heard.
12. Music Fridays # 56: More Strange Covers
Easily, my favorite thing to feature on Music Friday is covers. And this one certainly featured some of strangest Disney covers such as Gene Simmon's cover of When You Wish Upon A Star and once you learn the story behind it, it becomes more heartfelt. And then there is the The Fresh Prince's take on Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious that was actually entertainingly cheesy. This is how you do a rap version of that was actually fun.
11. Music Fridays # 5: Reprise Songs
I've always felt that reprises can be as just as good as the song, they are a reprise of. Sometimes even better or put a new take. And this one I took a look at some of my favorite reprise songs. And it was neat to be able to show, how they can put a new spin on the original song or be a good way to continue them.
10. Music Fridays # 41: Dumbo Covers (Dumbo Week)
Dumbo must've Supercali, that made me cry. Well, it didn't. As I said when talk about our 12th entry, my favorite thing to cover on Music Fridays is well, covers and Dumbo is my all time favoritest film. So, combine the two and that was a blast. And not to mention that I did this one on my birthday. It's become a tradition here at A Look at Disney, that the week of my birthday will be a Theme Week. The first year, it was Dumbo Week and then this year, it was Scouting Week. I'm already thinking about next year's theme, haven't decided on it just yet. But anyways as I was saying, I did this as a part of my first birthday celebration and it was quite a joy to work on to get to hear these pretty good covers from the bestest Disney movie EVER!!! Ahem, sorry about that. I just really love this movie.
There you have it, 20- 10. Join me next week as I go through 9 - 2.
