Hello & Welcome back to A Look at Disney Opens The Toy Box. And we are taking a look at more songs from Woody's Roundup. Let's begin.
Hey Howdy Hey
Yeah, one of Woody's catchphrases was turned into a song. Better this than There's a snake in my boot. I think that this is perhaps the one song on the CD that really shows how childish some of the songs could get it but seeing as this was a CD for kids, that's not a bad thing. And besides this song is a lot of fun. It's silly but that what makes it so much fun.
How Does She Yodel?
We now come to Jessie's second song, which is all about her yodeling. Which is not an easy feat and they brought in professional yodeler, Devon Dawson to do Jessie's yodeling and yeah, that's not an easy feat as heard by The Riders In The Sky. Clearly, not everyone can yodel. I'll leave that to Jessie.
One Two Three Said The Prospector
Yeah, maybe The Prospector shouldn't have had his own song. It's alright but when compared to The Prospector Polka that was about him, this one isn't as good. And I'm thinking that the Stinky Pete in Toy Story 2 wouldn't be a fan of this song as it portrays The Prospector as a buffoon. It's a fun little song but compared to some of the others that we've looked at, I could take it or leave it.
You've Got A Friend In Me
And what other way, is there to close out a two week Toy Story 2 Music Fridays, then by looking at a cover of You've Got A Friend In Me as preformed by The Riders In The Sky for this CD. I like it, not my favorite version but it's still pretty good and a lot of fun. It's a simple cover but that works in keeping the spirit of the song.
