Classic Shorts Showcase: Three Blind Mouseketeers

Hello and welcome back to Classic Shorts Showcase. Today, I'll be taking a look at Three Blind Mouseketeers.  Now if it weren't obvious from the title, today's short is a mix of Three Blind Mice and The Three Musketeers.   How does this combo work?  Well, you'll have to read the review to find out.

The Plot

It's strange to say but this short really didn't have an actual narrative but it's more or less like an Tom and Jerry short in that we had mice trying to get cheese while fighting Captian Kat, the main villain of this short.  It's more about the sight gags and it's really a cat and mouse short and in the end, the mice came out on top.

Characters

Now I'll just be breaking this down into Main, & Villain.

Main Characters

The Three Blind Mouseketeers - Pinto Colvig, Others Unknown

These characters  were a lot of fun and they were funny.  They worked well as a team and while they may not have individual personalities but as a core set of characters they work well.  They're forgettable at best but for what's it worth, they work well in this short.

Villain

Captian Kat voiced by Billy Bletcher

Now here again, our villain isn't too memorable but he works well in this short. He's funny but forgettable  Really, that's the biggest problem with this short, it's good but it's nothing to write home about. I mean I'm having a hard time remembering what happened in this short and you'd think with a shot like that, this short would be somewhat memorable.

My Final Thoughts

This short at best is okay. A lot of it is forgettable but it is worth watching at least once. It's not bad but it doesn't hold up when compared to other shorts. It's a fun watch but I have say that I don't think it'll stick with ya. Join me next time , when I take a look the The Ugly Duckling (1931)

Due to Roger Rabbit Week, next week there will not be a Classic Shorts Showcase but never fret, we will be back on track the following week.
