Take A Look at Disney

Christmas: The Santa's of Disney

Just as  much I love Disney, I love the idea  of Santa Claus. Of course, Disney has used  this jolly old man in many of their productions before and have even decorated up their characters as St. Nick before.  In this article, I'll be taking a look at the Santa's of Disney.  Where to start, where to start?  How about  with one of Disney's most famous Santa's.

Scott Calvin - The Santa Clause

Now this is the first Santa I think of other than the one from Miracle on 34th Street.  The Tim Allen Santa or Scott Calvin is the Santa that I grew up with.  during my childhood.  I remember seeing the first film in theaters and while at the time, I thought it was a little long. I still enjoyed it and at first, I thought Scott was a bit of a jerk but over time, he grew on me and by the end of the film, I liked him.  To me Tim Allen was the only actor that could play Santa and I always felt that way but of course that comes from nostalgia and I don't care what anyone says but I think the second movie is just as good as the first film.  I actually think the second film expanded upon his role as Jolly Old Saint Nick and how having the coolest job in the world can also put a toll on your family.  Scott Calvin to me is one of the best Santa's to come around on screen in a long time.

Silly Symphony  - Santa's Workshop/The Night Before Christmas

Our next Santa comes to us from two Silly Symphonies one of which I reviewed last year. I have just decided to lump the two shorts together as they are connected. This Santa is pretty cool too as he is able to work his magic and have the toys do his bidding. Such as we see in the start of The Night Before Christmas when he has them decorate the tree.  That was pretty cool and a lot of fun to watch. He is a very fun Santa that has a classic feel to  him.

Phineas & Ferb Santa -  Phineas & Ferb: Christmas Vacation

The next Santa I wish to bring up comes from Phineas and Ferb.   In the first Phineas and Ferb Christmas special,  Phineas wants to give Santa a present to show how much he cares about him so he  decides to make him a rest stop.  However Santa doesn't come because one of Doof's  machines put everyone in Danville on the Naughty List as he is trying to find a way to hat Christmas.  Phineas doesn't understand this and wants to show Santa that Danville is a good place and how else but through song

When Santa and his elf helper see this they decide to check the Naughty List and then head to Danville.  It's there we get to see him interact with the kids while they make toys and he is a fun Santa.  He just embodies what Santa should be a kind and caring person. Plus seeing the kids help him make the toys and presents in his sleigh was pretty cool as well.  Santa  comes along and helps out the kids to save Christmas and I have to say that I believe Santa was used well here and they didn't cheapen the spirit of Mr. Claus as some other Christmas episodes have done in the past.  Now besides this Christmas special, Santa has also appeared as a visual gag on the show as well.

Here he is standing next to Perry while Perry is trying to get to his hideout using a different entrance.  I just love the smile on Perry's face.  It as if he is saying, "Hi Santa, I've been good this year".    This is just a really cute shot.

We also see him here and I believe once again, he is interacting with Perry and as he told Perry...

I'm on a summer run

That may be one of the oldest jokes with Santa but it's still pretty cute. There you have it Santa in Phineas and Ferb.

Characters Dressed Up as Santa

Now for this one, I just wanted to take a look at the characters dressed as Santa.  Now the three biggest ones that I have seen dressed up in Santa garb are Mickey, Goofy, & Stitch. Mickey is obvious in dressing up as he is the big star of Disney but Goofy and Stitch dressed up as Santa are pretty funny. Taking in their personalities with how Goofy is so clumsy and Stitch is well  Stitch.  Santa Goofy has been around the longest I think though but I'm not sure and I first saw Santa Stitch during one of the parades and I still get a chuckle out of it.

There you go,  my look at some of the Santa's of Disney and I hope you have enjoyed my look at these different Santa's.  There are just many different types and who is your favorite Santa? Tell me in the comments.  Join me as I take a look at
